Episode 330: Dragon Ball GT: The Black Star Dragon Ball Saga (Part VI)

Join us for one tail of a tale as we continue the Baby Saga of Dragon Ball GT. With Sugoro exposed for cheating, his interdimensional Mario Party game collapses and allows Goku to escape. Finally reuniting with the Kais, Goku is informed that his current power will not be enough to stop Baby Vegeta. (Sure enough, even his mighty apprentice Uub struggles against the possessed Saiyan back on the Tuffle Planet.) Instead, Old Kai decides to regrow Goku’s tail so that he can reach a whole new level of power. With his tail back and training cut short, Goku returns to the Tuffle Planet to face Baby again. Unfortunately, Goku finds himself against the ropes even with the boost provided by his tail. While staring hopelessly up at Earth, a primal power awakens within Goku. His Golden Great Ape form emerges and begins laying waste to the new Tuffle Planet. Pan reaches out to the monstrous Goku to help him come to his senses, all while Baby schemes to gain that power for himself. Grind some coffee beans, eat some chocolate, and ready those Blutz Waves as Anime Was (Not) A Mistake finally ascends to Super Saiyan 4!!!

Get ready to race on this episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake! We return to Cardcaptor Sakura on the podcast. First Daniel and Jonathan footrace on a Mobius strip, next they hear a sacred Jonathan song. Following up, its a tiny huge adventure and finally there are two Sakuras to deal with. Dan will learn just how Jonathan lies and is ready, willing, and able to sing on this podcast. As the season goes on we can only look forward to you tuning in to see more Cards being reveled. Episode 328: Dragon Ball GT: The Black Star Dragon Ball Saga (Part V)

The Baby Saga of Dragon Ball GT continues as the titular Machine Mutant takes his first steps (he can walk now) toward world domination. Baby fights and possesses his way through the Saiyans of Earth until finding a true prize: Vegeta out shopping. Having gathered all of the Black Star Dragon Balls, Goku and his friends return home only to get a cold reception. The entire planet, minus Mr. Satan and Buu, is already under the control of Baby. Using Vegeta as his main host, Baby reveals his ultimate plan for revenge against the Saiyans. A wish is granted, a new world appears, and a hero falls. We recommend getting a whole lot better at Mario Party for today’s completely fair episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake!

First off she is off to a weekend in the country, meeting a mysterious man in a large mansion. Is there a secret familial bond to find here under the rainbow? Next it's a spooky test of courage and a glowing summer festival where some true feelings are revealed. Jonathan gets to badger Dan about finishing his summer homework. Lastly, another transfer student arrives from Hong Kong to show off her fighting prowess and announce an engagement?!? Join us for only good vibes on this episode. Are you ready for the summer?

Episode 326: Sinister Six XLVI: A*P*E (1976)

Another round of Sinister Six comes to a close, but our monkey business is far from over. 1976’s A*P*E confronts us with an all-too-familiar question: “What If King Kong, But No Plot?” The answer may shock you. A 36-foot-tall gorilla escapes his captors at sea, battles an extra-large shark, and then makes landfall in South Korea. Also visiting the country is movie star Marilyn Baker, quickly joined by her old flame, “jokester” journalist Tom Rose. The Korean and U.S. militaries are hesitant to believe reports about A*P*E roaming the countryside, so the giant monster manages to elude them for about 80 minutes of runtime. Not helping matters is Col. Davis being perpetually drunk and Capt. Kim giving Tom free jeeps. Ultimately, the only thing capable of stopping A*P*E is the viewer turning the movie off once the 15-minute montage finale begins. Remember to pack your puppets and be cautious while paragliding into today’s poorly scaled episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake!

Episode 325: Sinister Six XLV: Pete's Dragon (1977)

Its a Brazzle Dazzle Day on this very special episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake's Sinister Six series. Join us for a New England Disneyland romp as we sail on mythical wings to Passamaquoddy in 1977's Pete's Dragon. Not since Bedknobs and Broomsticks has their been a stupider musical that is somehow so crucial to Jonathan's persona. From fleeing waifs, hopeful lighthouse ballads, snakeoil salesmen, and kegs of beer, the only thing seemingly lacking in this film is one dopey animated dragon. Dan certainly wishes there was more, but what does he know? Its not easy to find a sinister six pick we will all love, after all.  We all better make some room for Elliot, as he will need ample space to Sratcha-His-Assey!

Episode 324: Dragon Ball GT: The Black Star Dragon Ball Saga (Part IV)

Bonds and mustaches are tested as we continue the Baby Saga of Dragon Ball GT. Defeated and frozen in carbonite, Goku and his friends are teleported to the heart of Dr. Myuu’s sinister operation. Giru saves our heroes (thanks to an off-screen scheme with Trunks), but an even darker secret is slumbering within the lab. Baby, the ultimate machine mutant, awakens and escapes Planet M2. Back on Earth, the Z Fighter’s peaceful lives are interrupted when an empowered Baby arrives on the scene. Baby failed to defeat Goku back in space, but he’s confident that possessing the other Saiyans will give him the strength he needs to conquer the universe. Make sure you have intergalactic health insurance and a really big ice cream cone for today’s extra-metallic episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake!

Episode 323: Cardcaptor Sakura: Part 3

On this episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake Jonathan and Dan face a new slew of challenges on their continuing Cardcaptor Sakura journey. First off, we try to open a mysterious locked box, while seeing how the other half lives. Next, watch as the boys scramble, while stuck in a never-ending time loop. Dan will stop and play tug of war with the elephants and Jonathan will take the lead role in the high school production of Cinderella. How fitting? Well, if those scenarios don't hit close enough to home, imagine your humble podcast hosts getting into a fight that could shake the very foundation of their friendship. Not like that happens every week or so... Anyways, get your camcorder ready there is sure to be some embarrassing footage the raccoons can view in the private editing room later.

Episode 322: Dragon Ball GT: The Black Star Dragon Ball Saga (Part III)

Anime Was (Not) A Mistake returns once more for some zany space adventures with Dragon Ball GT. After growing as friends Goku, Trunks, and Pan are seemingly betrayed by their robotic ally Giru. On a strange cybernetic planet our party is divided and set to be test subjects in both General Rildo and Doctor Myuu's sick, scientific studies. Pan must infiltrate this base of operations in order to save her crew and reclaim the Dragon Balls. However, with all of their combat on display for the transforming Sigma Force, how can mere mortals hope to fight against the progress of technology? Jonathan and Dan will have to recombine and transform in order to stand a chance in the wake of this raising power.

Anime Was (Not) A Mistake is back again for another summery and abundantly floral episode of Cardcaptor Sakura. With Sakura still adapting to her world-saving title, she must also come to terms with love, loss, and maybe even a rival. From ghostly visages in the woods, to a deadly sword brooch, this batch of episodes crash louder than a peal of thunder. I hope you are all wearing your catsuits in order to infiltrate a museum and participate in a 100-meter dash. I would be worried, but we have both the Senor Sangria and Mayonnaise cards on our sides. We can do anything!
