Episode 47: Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964)
Sunday Jan 26, 2020
Sunday Jan 26, 2020
Anime Was (Not) A Mistake is like a beast-with three heads, fans, critics, and a confused audience, all combined. Appropriate, being that today’s film is Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964). This is a weird one starring what many consider to be Godzilla’s arch-rival, straight outta space, King Ghidorah! In addition to action packed kaiju battles, plot lines in this film include the following: A Princess Venusian, the worst assassins ever, one “over it” Mothra larva, a bullied Rodan, and plenty of Shobijin music numbers for you stans! Godzilla has his claws-full, so lend a year and listen.

On the Season 3 finale of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake, hosts Jonathan and Daniel, at last, confront The Beast and their own pasts in order to finally leave The Unknown. Loyal Listeners, gather your courage and hope as we traverse the perils of harsh winters, the loss of childhood innocence, and yes, even teenage experiences in high school. Only with your continued support can we return home and give that special mix tape to the ones we love. Will this "denouement" be as sweet as potatoes and molasses? Or will we feel the harsh, metallic, sting as a pair of bluebird scissors render our adelwood flesh to lantern oil? Either way we thank you pilgrims, for accompanying us on this strange voyage Over the Garden Wall…and that, dear friends, is a Rock Fact™.
