Anime Was (Not) A Mistake concludes our summer long retrospective of Cyborg 009: The Cyber Soldier. In this episode we wrap up the absolute insanity that was the Yomi arc and finish off the series with a love letter to Shotaro Ishinomori. In an OVA not seen in quite some time there is a touching tribute, springing to life off the pages of the manga and onto our screens. God's War begins and the Summer of Cyborg comes to an end? Will Dan and Jon be left standing after this fiery finale? And what comes next? You will just have to tune in to find out!

Anime Was (Not) A Mistake returns with a quintuple penultimate batch of episodes in our Summer of Cyborg special. With an arc so long, it will take two weeks to cover we are headed off to the underground kingdom of Yomi, in which we will find an enslaved race of telepaths, monstrous reptilian beats, a billionaire with a grudge and a malevolent presence from the past. Will our cyborgs be able to withstand the hypnotic thrall, the devastating heat, and a demonic overload, long thought dead? As our Summer of Cyborg event continues, shadows from the past threaten to destroy the future. The 00 Cyborgs are confronted by a group of Psychic Assassin who serve Dr. Gamo Whisky, the long-lost father of 001. These mutant warriors prove to be formidable opponents, and their motivations are stranger still. The psychics traveled back from a desolate future in which Black Ghost has seemingly conquered the globe. Will the 00 Cyborgs be able to free the future? What exactly does Gamo want with his infant son? And will Jonathan have to talk about dinosaurs next time? We explore all of these questions and more on today's installment of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake!

Make a wish, loyal listeners. The Summer of Cyborg continues in part with chirping cicadas, blooming flowers, and pure existential dread. Anime Was (Not) A Mistake accelerates to rapidly approach the end of the series, with a few moments of horror and a final respite. We all wake up in a frozen time/space, 003 is determined to save Cairo from a deadly virus, 009 falls down the rabbit hole of memory, and a particular evil organization makes a new move in their sinister plan. Don’t lose hope though, even though the memories may fade, the feelings on this week’s episode will remain in your heart forever.

Our "Summer of Cyborg" event continues as the second season of Cyborg 009: The Cyber Soldier begins (and gets moved to a 1:30 AM time slot). We finally explore more of 005's backstory as he confronts a mysterious blue beast. Next, the cybernetic city of Computopia develops a deadly crush on 003. Then, the 00 Cyborgs come across an island of mutated monsters and menacing robotic squirrels. Finally, in one of the finest episodes of the series, 004 is forced to confront his doppelganger while investing an abandoned castle. We have a hearty mix of technological and supernatural terrors on today's episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake, so we hope you'll join us.

With Black Ghost, seemingly out of the picture, a new world threat emerges. A pantheon of super beings, claiming to be of divine descent descends on our beloved team. Just what is this glorified pantheon and what of this “justice” they claim to fight for? Will humanity survive or surrender in the wake of this strange world order? We can only hope that the 00 cyborgs can band together and answer our prayers.

Our Summer of Cyborg event continues with a batch of episodes that is 25% Gallant and 75% Goofus. The conflict between the 00 Cyborgs and Black Ghost comes to an explosive end. When our heroes are brought to the doorstep of the evil organization, they decide to go on the offensive and confront the sinister Skull directly. With one conflict (seemingly) ended, the Cyborgs are enjoy a little bit of normalcy. 006 works to reignite his culinary dreams, while 002 burns some garlic. Rest assured that our friend in the Bronx does get a chance to shine, however. Anime Was (Not) A Mistake’s Summer of Cyborg continues in globe hopping pursuit of Black Ghost. Be it, Christmas in Paris, a foggy London theater, or in the midst of a civil war in the Republic of Muamba, today we have some cinematic movements for you all! 003 dances through the past, 007 is cast in a familiar role, and 008 tries to pick up the pieces of a broken homeland. These moments will cause you to question the line between machine and humanity, while delving deep into the backstories of three of our heroes. You know Dan, I once acted in a production of The Mists of London… alas, I’m getting ahead of myself, that is a story for a different time.
