Tropey Japanese school girls are off to a fun trip in the countryside, but things take a turn for the campy when a cat spirit, a limber old woman, and haunted bed linen, etc. make an appearance! Two parts scary and one part hysterical this film is the perfect watch for the spooky season, while reminiscing on sweet days gone by. So, high jump kick into this episode…if you dare!

On behalf of the Galactic Federation, Anime Was (Not) A Mistake is investigating the 1984 film Locke the Superman. Colonel Ryu Yamaki recruits Locke, a legendary and seemingly immortal psychic, to combat the growing forces of the villainous Lady Kahn. Jessica Orin is a prodigal psychic who is central Lady Kahn's scheme, as her powers make her the ideal esper assassin. Jessica believes that Locke murdered her parents, putting the two psychics on a deadly collision course. Is Locke strong enough to stop Lady Kahn's tyrannical vision of the future? Will Jessica ever learn the truth about her parents? And why does that priest have a robotic hand? On today's episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake, we're hedging our bets and joining the Straw Hat Pirates for another cinematic adventure. In One Piece Film: Gold, Luffy and his friends travel to a massive casino ship known as the Gran Tesoro. After losing a deadly wager with Gild Tesoro, the owner of the ship and wielder of the Gold-Gold Fruit, the Straw Hats plan an elaborate heist in order to save Zoro and beat the house. Of course, things don't go exactly as planned. Instead, they might need a little extra luck in order to take down Tesoro and free his many captives. All that glitters may not be gold, but anime was (probably) not a mistake.

Our latest Sinister Six event continues and the stakes have quite literally never been higher. Fate has forced us to take a look at Money Plane, a film made by people who don't understand money or planes. In this aerial heist movie, a skilled (?) thief named Jack is blackmailed into robbing the legendary Money Plane. Anything goes on the Money Plane when it comes to gambling, whether you're playing Smash singles or Settlers of Catan. The entire scheme is organized by Darius "The Rumble" Grouch III, as portrayed by Kelsey Grammer in a separate movie. But for Jack's team and even the Rumble himself, this flight plan might encounter a little turbulence. You might want to keep an air sickness bag ready for today's installment of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake, where our Plan A is never quite as good as our Plan B.
