Choke on It B#tch! This week on Anime Was (Not) A Mistake Jonathan and Dan check out Sam Rami's classic horror comedy, Drag Me To Hell (2009). There is a dark spirit afoot and Christine Brown has denied a bank loan to the wrong old lady. For those of you bodily functions opposed, please turn away because this one is kind of a gross out. But, if you every worked at a banking job, ate an eyeball-filled cake, or had a revenge demon following you, this might be the perfect movie goer experience.

Our latest Sinister Six event begins with 1975's The Giant Spider Invasion. A black hole hits rural Wisconsin and opens a doorway to a parallel universe (or a Spider-Verse, if you will). The town is soon overrun by small spiders who gradually grow into bigger, cuter spiders. It takes a while for our cast of characters to notice anything is amiss, however. The scientists are busy running tests in a totally-real laboratory, the drunks are drinking, and the cops are eating chili. By the time everyone realizes there's a growing spider problem, it may be too late to save our world. Because if that portal in Wisconsin remains open, something much worse than spider puppets could emerge... (spoiler alert, its just more spider puppets)

Anime Was (Not) A Mistake continues with our recap of Trigun, by heading right into the fray. In this batch of episodes we are finally introduced to the murderous Gung Ho Guns. This group is dead set on killing Vash, just like Jonathan is intent on devouring some chicken parmigiana. Additionally, Vash's sci-fi upbringing and a deeper plot emerges. Eat your heart out, Dan Ryan. How did the people here arrive on Gunsmoke? Who is Vash chasing? And what is the directive of the human race? Spreading genes/jeans? Listen, and all will be revealed.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the creepiest Stand user of them all? Our last batch of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders episodes ended with the startling revelation that Kakyoin is a traitor. Jotaro will have to confront his so-called friend and contend with a seemingly-invincible Stand. Next, the group reaches India and finds themselves in the crosshairs of two deadly assassins. Polnareff sees a chance to finally get revenge on his sister's murderer, but his recklessness could have terrible consequences. The thrills and chills never stop in today's episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake. If you happen to notice a strange pimple forming on your arm, do your best to keep it covered and away from water.

Anime Was (Not) A Mistake cant stop the wheels on this crazy...sandsteamer?!? Jonathan and Dan race along in an electric brilliant dynamite neon flash as they continue recapping Trigun. If they somehow mange to survive they might require some spiritual guidance on this parched desert planet. And if a mysterious preacher may show up, bearing a strange colossal cross well, let's just say that they hope it isn't time for them to meet their maker. Get your rides in dear, and make sure the chamber is loaded, there is no stopping now!

Don't play with dolls on today's Anime Was (Not) A Mistake! Dan and Jonathan continue JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. As Jotoro and his party continue to trek the world to confront Dio, they must first defeat the speedy French challenger Jean Pierre Polnareff. Is this man sinister or chivalrous? Next, its a high sea adventure and a deep sea duel. Dan, won't say it outright, but I think there's something very suspicious going on with that ape on the abandoned freighter... Ah, well, maybe I'm judging too quickly. All I wanted was just a relaxing moment in this luxury hotel. I guess that will have to wait.

With those sinister spirits behind us, Anime Was (Not) A Mistake will be enjoying a nice, scenic trip to Egypt. What could go wrong? JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders opens with Jotaro Kujo, the grandson of Joseph Joestar, believing himself to be possessed by an evil spirit. Joseph arrives in Japan and reveals that this presence is actually a Stand, a manifestation of the user's life energy. These powers have only recently awakened in the Joestar family because of the villainous DIO, who has somehow risen from his watery grave. When a dark curse threatens someone they love, the Joestars and their new allies resolve to find DIO and defeat him once and for all. Pour yourself a tall glass of Hot Cola and join us as a new adventure begins!

Tonight, it's The Phantom of the Opera (2004) and we can only hope that this film adaptation of the stage classic hits the right, if any chordant notes. You may experience backstage antics, half moon masks, and toxic relationships aplenty. Prima Daniel, first lady of the pod, our reviewers are on their knees to receive you! Tumbling down from the peak of our 200th episode, it's time for another Sinister Six disaster. Gotti stars John Travolta as the real-life New York City mobster John Gotti. Released in 2018, the film gained infamy when its marketing team started a beef with internet critics. That beef is sadly the only real meat in this movie. The only other ingredients here are disconnected plot points, multiple framing devices, and very tiny cars. To optimize your listening experience, we recommend that you grab a big bowl of peas and head to the loudest club you can find. We do hope you'll join us for an episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake that's less great than Supergirl and slightly better than The Incredible Melting Man. (A note from the Raccoon Producers: Throughout this podcast episode, Dan makes frequent jokes about the movie having too many lamps. He then forgets to explain this joke, rendering the whole thing pointless. His punishment will be swift.)
