Our holiday interlude continues with a trip to the dark and surprisingly festive underbelly of Gotham City. In Tim Burton's Batman Returns, the Caped Crusader must take on the combined forces of the Penguin, Catwoman, and corrupt business mogul Max Shrek. While Gotham City tries and fails to enjoy a very ritzy Christmas, the Penguin emerges from the sewers alongside the destructive Red Triangle Gang. Max Shrek schemes to mold the Penguin into the ideal mayoral candidate, but Cobblepot has some sinister plans of his own. Meanwhile, Shrek's beleaguered assistant Selina Kyle transforms into Catwoman after a failed attempt on her life. Batman finds himself face-to-face with villains that are unsettlingly similar to him.
