This time on Anime Was (Not) A Mistake we reconvene for our Satoshi Kon vs. Mamoru Hosoda marathon with one of the best Christmas movies of all time, Tokyo Godfathers. Even though we may be on a quest to return a lost baby to it’s family, we can’t resist stopping for a drink, doting over cats, and squabbling in the streets with the people we’ve grown close to. Don your Santa hats and festive spirits, there’s only one anime trope that we want under the tree this year, and that is true family are the friends you make along the way. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve gotta drink some Sake in this cemetery. Merry Christmas!
