Episode 173:One Piece: Stampede

While Anime Was (Not) A Mistake has never been invited to any cons, our presence was finally requested at this year's Pirate Festival. Hopefully this is just a really fun party and no one has ulterior motives. One Piece: Stampede was released in 2019 to celebrate the anime's 20th anniversary. As such, the film is loaded with cameos from canon and filler characters alike. Buena Festa has invited pirates from around the globe to compete for a mysterious treasure that supposedly belonged to Gol D. Roger himself. Joining Festa is "Demon Heir" Douglas Bullet, a previously-unmentioned member of the former Pirate King's crew. Festa intends to create a spectacle that will override Roger's legacy, while Bullet is determined to stand alone as the world's strongest pirate. Monkey D. Luffy, his crew, and the other pirates belonging to the Worst Generation will have to unite to order to stop Bullet's seismic assault. If the younger pirates fail, the entire One Piece world will be consumed by chaos.
