On today's installment of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake, we're taking some time to reflect on (spider) family values. Our recap of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba continues with the Mount Natagumo arc. Tanjiro and his new friends are dispatched to the titular mountain in order to assist other Demon Slayers who had been sent there previously. The group is quickly confronted by a so-called "family" of spider-themed demons. At the center of this strange group is an imposing demon named Rui, who seems to command more respect than his role in the family implies. The conflict on Mount Natagumo takes its toll on each of the heroes differently. Tanjiro will have to fight to defend his principles, Inosuke will be confronted with the limits of his strength, and Zenitsu has to deal with becoming a spider baby. This web will only get more tangled as we go, but we do hope you'll join us on our humble, arachnid-infested podcast.
