On behalf of the Galactic Federation, Anime Was (Not) A Mistake is investigating the 1984 film Locke the Superman. Colonel Ryu Yamaki recruits Locke, a legendary and seemingly immortal psychic, to combat the growing forces of the villainous Lady Kahn. Jessica Orin is a prodigal psychic who is central Lady Kahn's scheme, as her powers make her the ideal esper assassin. Jessica believes that Locke murdered her parents, putting the two psychics on a deadly collision course. Is Locke strong enough to stop Lady Kahn's tyrannical vision of the future? Will Jessica ever learn the truth about her parents? And why does that priest have a robotic hand? Some of these questions and more will be answered on today's 80s-infused episode of Anime Was (Not) A Mistake.
